Our Team
-
Joanne La - Co-founder
Jo started Muay Thai after realising that she needed to work on her fitness and build more discipline into her life. It didn’t take long for her to fall in love with Muay Thai, deciding to compete professionally in 2014. After 10 years of Muay Thai, four of those years also coaching, starting JS Muay Thai seemed like the natural next step to share her love of Muay Thai with others. Holding Certificates 3 and 4 in Fitness and a Bachelor of Business Management, she continues to build her qualifications to deliver the best experience for the JS Community.
Jo loves Disney movies and love songs from the 1990’s. Before her fight, she has one song on repeat to calm her down before the war: Jessie J - Who you are. Another thing about Jo, she enjoys trying new food and going on food adventures (massive foodie).

Helen Stiles - Muay Thai Coach
Helen is a professional Muay Thai fighter and an Emergency Department Nurse!
She began her Muay Thai journey with the goal of getting fit in an exciting way. After just two weeks, watching two girls sparring in the ring inspired her with their strength and tenacity. This motivation drove her to train more frequently and develop those same qualities.
Now, five years later, Helen has progressed from the novice and amateur ranks to the professional scene, with six fights under her belt.
She is thrilled to join the team at JS and hopes to help members experience the same inspiration she felt when she started. Her aim is to support them in feeling empowered through a challenging practice that builds strength and resilience, promotes good mental health, and serves as an outlet from the pressures of daily life.

Cindy Huynh - Muay Thai Coach
Cindy started her Muay Thai journey with a free trial, stepping into a gym without any training experience and life hasn’t been the same since. Skip forward 5 years, Cindy is currently competing as an Amatuer fighter and has been coaching for 2 years.
Muay Thai has shaped Cindy into the driven, confident and resilient person she is today. Cindy's biggest passion in life is to support, coach and help people in their goals to be the best versions of themselves. Nothing makes her happier than seeing the people she coaches grow and learn.
Outside of Muay Thai, Cindy is a disability support worker. Cindy's dream is to share this beautiful sport to people living with disability to feel strong and empowered.

Liv Watt - Muay Thai Coach
Liv first entered a Muay Thai gym during high school, encouraged by a friend who recommended joining him in his training. Eager to learn self-defense, she decided to sign up alongside him. Over the next few years, her training was intermittent, and she spent about a year boxing before discovering her true passion lay in Muay Thai. At 19, she realised how much she enjoyed training and began to integrate it consistently into her routine, leading her to where she is today.
Before her journey into Muay Thai, she was an avid gamer, spending most of her free time immersed in video games. As she became more committed to a healthier and fitter lifestyle, she found less time for gaming but still cherishes the occasional return to it for relaxation.
Muay Thai has profoundly reshaped her life for the better. She remains dedicated to learning and challenging herself, aspiring to grow into someone who can inspire others to invest in their own growth while also appreciating the simple joys in life.

Cindy La - Muay Thai Coach
You might notice that she’s petite, but she’s a real pocket rocket!
Cindy is currently competing as an amateur fighter and works as a Veterinary Nurse and Dog Groomer.
She is approaching her fifth year since she first fell in love with the art of Muay Thai. Cindy attributes much of who she is today to this sport and feels immensely grateful for it.
Through both the beauty and challenges of Muay Thai, her goal is to support and guide others on their journey to unlock their inner greatness. She aims to nurture and build resilience—mentally, physically, and spiritually.
