JS Muay Thai is Melbourne's first women-only Muay Thai gym. founded by two professional female fighters, built on the belief that Muay Thai can empower and build self-confidence. Specifically designed for women of all ages, body types, fitness levels and walks of life, the JS Community is a welcoming and supportive space for anyone who wants to learn or improve their Thai kickboxing skills, get fit and/or meet like-minded people.

Our founders, Joanne La and Som Rangkla , share in common their energetic personalities, infectious optimism and depth of experience, which they’ve infused into creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
What differentiates them is their fight styles and body types, with Jo the more aggressive fighter in contrast with Som’s long limbs and highly technical fighting style. This enables them to adapt techniques for a broad range of people, enhancing your learning experience.

GROUP CLASS
Our group classes cater to individuals of all ages and fitness levels. Led by experienced coaches, we offer authentic Muay Thai training sessions that include bag work, pad work, and skill drills. As you progress, you'll have opportunities to practice sparring and refine defensive techniques, all while enjoying a cardio-intensive workout. Emphasizing safety, our training also focuses on cultivating good partnership skills, demonstrating proper equipment usage, and maintaining correct posture and form to minimize injury risks.
In addition to Muay Thai, we offer a variety of classes including strength training, HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training), conditioning sessions, and yoga. Whatever your fitness goals, our diverse class offerings provide opportunities to enhance your overall fitness and well-being.
